About the Commission
The Independent Planning Commission (IPC) was established to make independent decisions as the consent authority for certain State significant development (SSD) applications across New South Wales.

Mining and Petroleum Gateway Panel
The Mining and Petroleum Gateway Panel is a subcommittee of the Independent Planning Commission. It forms part of the NSW Government’s Strategic Regional Land Use Policy.

Mixed use development including affordable housing at Crows Nest approved subject to conditions
The NSW Independent Planning Commission has today approved a 22-storey mixed use development with affordable housing in Crows Nest (SSD-66826207). The site, located at Five Ways in Crows Nest (bounded by the Pacific Highway, Falcon and Alexander Streets) is within the North Sydney local government area and North Sydney Council had objected to the proposed development.

Dee Why Mixed Use Development approved subject to conditions
The NSW Independent Planning Commission has today approved, subject to conditions, the Dee Why Mixed Use Development (SSD-68230714), located at 4 Delmar Parade and 812 Pittwater Road, Dee Why within the Northern Beaches Local Government Area. This State significant development will provide a total of 280 apartments, including 43 affordable housing units and 4 commercial tenancies.
