Mike has more than 30 years of experience in planning, environmental impact assessment, policy and law. Mike is currently an Acting Commissioner at the NSW Land and Environment Court. Mike is also the Director of strategic advisory consultancy providing advice on environmental, planning and government affairs. Prior to this, Mike was the Executive Director of Planning and Communities at the Energy Corporation of NSW. 

Mike was also an Executive Director at the former NSW Department of Planning and Environment where he oversaw the assessment of State significant energy, resource and industrial projects. He was also responsible for the Department’s compliance and enforcement function under the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. 

Mike also has extensive experience in developing government policies to clarify and strengthen the environmental assessment of State significant developments in NSW, including those applying to renewable energy, electricity transmission infrastructure, resource projects and community participation and benefit sharing.
