Cameron O’Reilly

Cameron O’Reilly is the current Chair of the NSW Energy Security Corporation (ESC), a state backed investor in large and small-scale energy storage and low emission technologies. He is a qualified company director and has nearly four decades experience in the public and private sectors across a range of regulated industries.
In 2023 Cameron was appointed to lead an Electricity Supply and Reliability Check Up for the state government while he was an Associate Director with consulting economists Marsden Jacob Associates (MJA). Prior to that he had been both Principal Energy Advisor and Executive Director in the energy division of the then NSW Department of Planning Industry & Environment (DPIE).
From 2006 to 2015 Cameron was the Chief Executive of the Energy Retailers Association of Australia (ERAA). He was also a former Chief Executive of the Aged Care Guild and an Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Council of Recycling.
Cameron is a member of the Expert Panel of Gateway Reviewers for Infrastructure NSW, Infrastructure Victoria and Queensland Treasury. He is also a current Non-Executive Director of Relationships Australia NSW and the Chair of NSW Squash. He holds a Master of Management & Public Policy, a Bachelor of Economics and in 2008 was awarded a Fulbright Professional Scholarship in Australia-US Alliance Studies.
